License
Letters from Sweden – End User License Agreement (EULA)
Preamble – In Plain Language
This license lets you use Letters from Sweden fonts according to the rules below. Desktop fonts are licensed per user, with each licensed user allowed to install the fonts on any number of their own computers or tablets. Webfonts are licensed based on the total number of pageviews per month. Mobile App fonts are licensed based on the number of applications in which the fonts are embedded.
Desktop fonts may be used to create images, artwork, or fixed designs for print, screen, web, or film. Webfonts may be used to style text on licensed websites and newsletters. Mobile App fonts may be embedded securely in licensed apps.
Some uses, such as merchandise, logos, or political campaigns, may require a separate license; please contact Letters from Sweden for details. Even if text is converted to outlines or vectors, the license terms still apply: fonts may only be shared with licensed users or otherwise in accordance with the type of license purchased.
1. Desktop Fonts (OTF)
Allowed Uses
Licensed users may install and use the fonts on any number of their own computers or tablets. Fonts can be used to create images, artwork, or fixed designs for print, screen, web, or film. EPS or vector artwork may be created for your company or household. Fonts can be used in film credits and broadcast titles if all creators and editors are licensed users.
Use in commercial merchandise, logos, wordmarks, monograms, trademarks, or taglines may require a separate license. Use in political campaigns or by political parties, organizations, or lobbying groups requires prior written consent.
Number of Users
The license is based on the number of users. All users must belong to the same company or household, and the total number of licensed users is shown on your receipt.
Third Parties
Fonts may be provided to a service bureau (output provider only) such as a printer, as long as they only output your work, do not create designs, and retain no copies. Any other third-party use, including collaborators that create or edit content, requires a separate license.
Embedding
Fonts may be embedded in documents sent to third parties for viewing and printing only. Embedding in software, hardware, mobile apps, or games requires a separate license.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
Fonts and accompanying materials are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights remain with Letters from Sweden. Unauthorized copying, modification, distribution, or use of the fonts beyond what is allowed by this license is prohibited. Trademarks associated with the fonts may only be used to identify output created with the fonts and do not grant any ownership rights.
Termination
This Agreement terminates automatically if you fail to comply with its terms. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the fonts.
Disclaimer & Limited Warranty
Fonts are warranted to be free of defects for 21 days from delivery. Remedies are limited to replacement or refund. Fonts are otherwise provided “as is”, without warranties of merchantability or fitness for purpose. Letters from Sweden is not liable for direct, indirect, or incidental damages from use or inability to use the fonts. This license is governed by the laws of Sweden.
2. Webfonts (WOFF/WOFF2)
Usage
Webfonts may be used on any domain owned or controlled by the licensee, including subdomains. Total pageviews must not exceed the monthly limit stated on your receipt. Agencies may not share a single license across multiple client websites.
Fonts may be used on websites where visitors create “Styled Content” by selecting fonts, as long as this content stays on the website. Exporting fonts to merchandise, PDFs, or images may require a separate license. Fonts may be used in newsletters if the total monthly opens are licensed. If used for both websites and newsletters, traffic is counted together. Political use requires prior written consent.
Conversion & Modifications
Subsetting webfonts is allowed. Converting webfonts to vectors or outlines does not allow distribution to unlicensed users. Use with technologies such as sIFR, Cufón, or Typeface.js is not allowed.
File Protection
Reasonable steps must be taken to prevent unauthorized access, such as blocking hotlinking and direct downloads.
Copyright, Intellectual Property, Termination, Warranty
Same as Desktop Fonts.
3. Mobile App Fonts (TTF/OTF)
License Grant
Fonts may be embedded securely into a licensed iOS, Android, or Windows app. Each licensed app/platform combination counts as one application. Fonts may not be accessed outside the app by end users.
Restrictions
Fonts may not be embedded in apps that output documents, images, or data files, or that act as server components. Fonts may not be the primary value or functionality of the app. Fonts may not be made open-source or publicly available. Political use requires prior written consent.
Alterations
Fonts may not be altered to add functionality or change embedding permissions.
Transfer & Copies
Fonts may not be rented, sublicensed, or distributed beyond the licensed app(s). Reasonable backup copies may be made for archival purposes only.
Copyright, Intellectual Property, Termination, Warranty
Same as Desktop Fonts.
4. Trial Fonts
Allowed Use
Trial fonts are for testing and mockups only. They may not be used in commercial projects. Non-commercial projects, such as school assignments, are allowed. Trial fonts may not be shared or modified. You must purchase a full license before using the fonts commercially or beyond testing and mockups.
