This conceptual typeface explores how the appearance of a solar eclipse, just before the moon covers the sun, can inform letterforms. Intersecting duplicate outlines create character shapes that make Eklips look almost like a stencil typeface. The surprising design gives rise to fun interactions with the reader. More than classic shadowed faces, the letters suggest ambiguous three-dimensional volumes. They leave the question unanswered if they are lit from the left or from the right.
